Description: In the quaint village of Sleepy Hollow, stories of wonder and strangeness surround the legend of a mighty headless Hessian. When the humble schoolteacher Ichabod Crane vies for the hand of the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, the townsfolk might protest, but it is ultimately the Horseman who will decide Ichabod's fate. More Information.

Content Advisory: mild language, mature themes, and some innuendo

Audition Style: Auditions will take place in a warm and supportive group setting. Actors will engage in a group activity and then read excerpts from the play in different pairings. Please attend as many audition dates as you can!

What to Prepare: Pick ONE monologue to present at the audition. Be sure to make a strong character choice. Memorization is encouraged but not required. You may also prepare an Ichabod/Katrina/Brom Bones scene as well--even if you're not interested in auditioning for those characters. Everyone will have a chance to do monologue and scene work. We encourage you to take risks, have fun, and lean into the melodrama!

Interested in Crew? Fill out the audition form and indicate your crew interests! Attend auditions to meet the team, and we'll find a place for you to work behind the scenes.

The cast list will be posted within 48 hours of the final audition at SEACT.com and on SEACT's social media pages. You are expected to check the cast list and report to the first read-through on Thursday, August 20 at 6:30 PM.

Rehearsals typically take place Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 6:30-8:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. Additional rehearsals will be added closer to show week that cannot be missed.

Review the Calendar here.

All conflicts between August 20 and October 18 must be provided at registration. Adding additional conflicts after casting is grounds for reduced stage time or dismissal from the production. Conflicts do not mean you will not be cast, but they might affect how you are cast. Actors of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply!

Enrollment Fee: $250 for cast; $150 for crew (includes competition coaching, t-shirts, scripts/materials, and competition registration fees. Hotel/travel/food not included). Partial tuition assistance is available for the enrollment fee only. Apply here before auditioning if tuition assistance is needed

Special Note: Actors auditioning for Company will not be able to participate in Sleepy Hollow. Actors auditioning for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will be able to participate in both shows and miss the first few Rudolph rehearsals. Conflicts might affect casting.
